New Delhi: The recent restructuring in the UK of cosmetics firm The Body Shop will not affect its operations in India, according to Quest Retail, the company’s partner in India. Despite the UK arm entering administration due to the financial crisis, the Indian operations remain unaffected.
Quest Retail Group CEO, Shriti Malhotra, reassured that all stores in India are operating as usual, both in physical locations and online.
With nearly 200 stores nationwide and a presence in over 1,500 cities online, India stands as one of the top markets for The Body Shop globally, she added.
Malhotra said the continued growth and popularity of The Body Shop in India, highlights the company’s plans for omni-channel expansion and exploration of newer retail formats. The focus remains on ensuring easy access for customers while maintaining the brand’s strong affinity in the Indian market.
Established in 2006, The Body Shop India operates under Quest Retail Pvt Ltd, a company specializing in beauty products’ marketing, retailing, and distribution of global brands in India.
Last week, the Directors of The Body Shop International appointed Tony Wright, Geoff Rowley, and Alastair Massey of business advisory firm FRP as Joint Administrators of the company, which operates The Body Shop’s UK business.
