Cloud kitchen company CureFoods has acquired foodtech startup Yumlane. The acquisition will allow Yumlane to use CureFoods’ reach to augment its proprietory pizza technology.
In 2021, Curefoods took Yumlane Pizza cloud kitchen franchisee rights for South India market followed by 10% stake in the company in 2022. To further its reach and distribution, Curefoods has acquired Yumlane in its entirety.
Founded by Hitesh Ahuja, Rueben Ghosh and Rahul Kumar in March 2016, Yumlane built a proprietary technology stack for pizza and forayed into cloud kitchen brand – Yumlane Pizza and B2B business.
In the B2B vertical, Yumlane claims to have expanded its distribution network across 15 cities in India. Its client portfolio includes brands Curefoods, Barbeque Nation, Frozen Bottle, and 7-11.
Curefoods operates brands like EatFit, Yumlane, Aligarh House Biryani, Masalabox and CakeZone. It has over 100 kitchens across 12 cities in India. In April this year, Curefoods raised Rs 300 crore ($36.5 million) in an equity and debt round led by Binny Bansal’s fund Three State Ventures.
